Then and Now

Then...

and now.

Still celebrating Ashton!
I love to stretch out my birthday special-treatment for at least a week, and so I thought Ashton should get the same attention. He has changed so much, but when I think about it, it's amazing how his personality was apparent right from the beginning. He's an easy-going, mellow, happy little guy but when he gets angry or upset, he really lets you know. And that's the way it always has been. We are in party countdown mode, even though we aren't sure where in the world everyone will fit if it doesn't behave outside on Saturday. If there is no bouncy at the bouncy birthday, we'll have to see if Peyton is available to provide the entertainment.
Today the boys and I had dinner at Aunt Suepy's soon-to-be-old house. It was wonderful. The food was excellent, the boys well behaved and she sent us home with a treasure-trove of children's books from over the years. Mason had a great time exploring, he loves that Suepy has an upstairs. To a four year old, stairs that lead to a second story are far more fun than ones that come up from the basement. Ashton banged away on the piano, content to sit by himself and make music. He enjoyed the different textured balls the Suepy has all over the living room, and even thoughtfully rearranged them for her. We got home in time to hop in bed- tomorrow Derk and Arika...oh who are we kidding?
Tomorrow LEO gets here!!!!
