Lazy Day

Our father's day celebration was a hit, I always forget how much fun Rolling Hills Water Park is. Every time we go I wonder why we don't go more often. It was perfet for Ashton, who loved that he could walk right into the water and didn't have to be carried everywhere. He liked the baby slide and splash park the best. We rode the lazy river as a family, trying to manuever each other into the path of the next water hazard. Ashton told us he was "happy hot" when we left.

This morning everybody slept in until 7:30, and then played in the bed until after 8:00. Sean looked at me when he opened his eyes and said "No Kiwanis today?" "Oh, S%#@" I guess not. I'm feeling lazy today, and so there will be no working out, no cleaning-- just a playdate with the boys. While we were playing "suffocate Mommy while she tries to get a last few moments of sleep", Abby came in to join the fun. She wanted to jump on the bed too, but I had to tell her "sorry honey, that's only allowed on special occasions; like when you stay at the Cornacks!" I realized that Ashton thinks Abby's name is Abby-no-no. That's how he says it every time, and it cracks me up, because it sounds just like one of Mason's favorite book titles, Abiyoyo.

Speaking of books- our summer reading has slowed considerably, but we are enjoying The Chocolate Touch. It's one of the books we got from Suepy's treasure trove, and it is one of those timeless stories kids will love forever. What kid would not like a book about chocolate? I remember reading it when I was younger, and I think I am enjoying it just as much now as I did then.

I still remember the Abiyoyo song from when I was in elementary school. What a great book!
