Home on the Range

We're back to the daily grind, as they say, and loving it. A weekend away is always perfect, because it's just enough time to relax, feel like an adult again, and to be appreciated by your family. I missed the boys, they missed me, Sean remembers that yes, it is a challenging job to be the mama. Now I just need to plan a trip every month.

I made the boys a special favorite of mine for breakfast this morning: crepes with fresh fuit, sour cream and salted cashews. They were little piggies, just how I like them to be. We took forever to get out the door this morning, and it was nice to not have to rush. When we got to summer camp we discovered that it was LOBSTER DAY! (what, you don't celebrate lobster day?) Mason was tickled, he got to hold a lobster and tell Sean and I all about it. When we got home our neighbor was outside, and the boys went over to bother, I mean, play with her. They discovered an abandoned robin nest (which is now on display in our garage, if you are interested) and also an occupied nest. There were three baby birds, and our knowledgeable neighbor explained how the mama birds digest and regurgitate food for their chicks.

Thank you for that lesson, and no, we haven't eaten yet.
