Ashton is a big boy!

BIG BOY!

After two days of Ashton taking no nap and executing Houdini-like manuevers to escape his crib, we flew a white flag. We turned the crib into a toddler bed tonight. Ashton though it was great, hopping in and out as he pleased, and snuggling his pillow whenever he felt the desire. Bedtime was a different story, as you might have guessed.

It went like this:

  1. Read Ashy a book, place him in bed and tell him goodnight.
  2. Ashton slides out the opening left from the crib rail.
  3. Place Ash back in bed, tell him he's a big boy, and big boys DO NOT get out of their beds.
  4. Repeat step three, crouching on the floor to peer in his room and intercept before his feet hit the floor.
  5. Repeat step three and four several more times, for good measure.
Eventually he stayed put, and because there was no crying the whole process went a lot better than I had expected it to.

Yay Ashton! I'm so proud of him!
