We are home from a great trip, and resting from a very full weekend. The boys stretched Mother's Day out this year, starting off with a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses on Friday. We had waaay too much food at Mother's Day dinner with the Edison's, and had so much fun that we left much later than we should have. Mason was still recovering at his game Saturday morning, but all of the kids on the green team were out of sorts. Every player was just a little off, a little less coordinated, a little late. They still managed to pull off a victory, and remain undefeated. With one game left the Green Galaxy stands a good chance of holding on to that record.
We hopped in the car after the game and went straight to Sauder Village. We saw glass making, an old-fashioned cabin, and lots of animals. I let the boys pick out some old fashioned candy at the general store, and we wandered around the Native American Village before taking a train ride and heading into the hotel to go swimming. The pool and hot tub were a highlight of our trip, we swam until dinner and then woke up in the morning to swim until checkout time. Mason had oodles of things to teach us about swimming, but Ashton is the one who is alarmingly fearless in the water. He perfected his "cannonball" jump into the pool, sometimes with warning, sometimes without.
Today I got to take an uninterrupted nap (with my trusty earplugs, of course) while the boys cleaned the house. Ahhhh. I could get used to this Mother's Day stuff.
