Purple Pesto

Our Internet has been fickle lately, so we have a lot to report. The weekend was wonderful; Mimi took the two bigs overnight on Friday (she's brave) and Sean and I kept Blake. We enjoyed a "date night" at Evan's Street, which was quiet and lovely. Blake slept through the entire meal, and we basked in the compliments and attention he drew from the restaurant staff and other guests. He was such a good little man, I think he knew we needed an adult night out. We came home and watched Sweeny Todd (don't, it's awful) and then went to bed.
The boys and Meems and PJ had about as opposite an experience as is possible. They swam, stayed up late, got up early, rode a boat down a canal pulled by a mule, and swam again. They were delivered to us weary and bleary-eyed.
We spent Sunday making treats with our farm share goodies. I made pesto again, this time with purple and green basil. It really doesn't make purple pesto, it makes gray pesto, which is somewhat unappetizing. We made zucchini muffins and wild blackberry pancakes. We also ate blueberries until we were sick, because they were $2.50 a pint, big, juicy, and organic! Next week we will buy even more and attempt to freeze some of them.
Today is Halloween in July at Summer Camp, Mason was so excited that he opened two NEW costumes that I had hidden in the basement closet. I was not very happy, but he was so enthusiastic that I couldn't stay mad.
We are *FINALLY* getting the carpets cleaned today, they were scheduled to be done before Blake arrived. I can't wait to see what color they really are!
