Crisp weather, beautiful colors, no more air conditioning- I love autumn.
One of the other good things about this time of year is all of the yummy seasonal beer that comes out. I decided to taste-test them all for you and same you some time & $$$. The Boulevard market in Tecumseh has a mix-and-match deal on all seasonal six packs, which is so much fun, and makes my taste-testing more reasonable. I have an affinity for the pumpkin brews, but they have to be done right- not too spicy. Here are my three favorites, in order of yumminess from left to right. If you can find somewhere that sells the first one (Busch's or the Blvd mkt around here) then you can forget about the others all together. Arcadia Ales version is much more mild, but the label design is so cool it bumps up the brew a few notches. Screamin' Pumpkin' is new to me, and I will drink it faithfully each autumn from now on. In moderation, of course. It is wonderful, like a liquid pumpkin pie but not sickeningly sweet. If you love a good beer this time of year but don't love nutmeg in your bottle, try Great Lakes Moon Dog ESB. It is my new favorite non-pumpkiny beer.
And because this little blog is suppossed to be about boys, not beer, here is my beautiful baby singing you a song about "A". Enjoy!
