A long holiday

What a weekend! We had the longest "weekend" yet in Saugatuck, stretching our holiday from Thursday night to Monday afternoon. I am SO glad the kids start school on Wednesday instead of Tuesday- I'm not ready! We did so many things on this trip- but the highlights are in the pictures. We loved having Mimi with us, we really enjoyed the Art Barn again, and the sunset on the beach was the icing on the cake. There were definitely some rough patches too- it is our first time traveling with three, and it was an adjustment. The biggest difference is how much longer it takes to get out the door to go anywhere, which is why it was nice that there was a lot to do right at the house we rented. The boys made the most of the hottub (even bathing in it on our last morning) and loved the hammocks. Blake was surprisingly easy going, he seemed to enjoy the outings and variety each day.

Before we left Ash had a (typical) mishap, and I thought he had broken his foot. I freaked out, actually. Fortunately, the foot is bruised and slightly swollen, but not broken. However, we discovered that his baby toe IS broken, poor kid. He had another accident at the rental house (%#@! hardwood floors!) and just in time for his new teachers to wonder what in the world goes on in our home. It is always good to get home, this time even more than usual. We got settled quickly, and the boys have been sleeping for a good hour now.
