We had such a great day today. We met Jack at the park for a lunch-playdate and Lia snoozed through the whole thing. Even though the sun never made much of an appearance, the kids played hard and enjoyed themselves. Ashton's unique mix of clumsiness and fearlessness had me on pins and needles. The layout of Island Park makes it harder than normal to keep an eye on him. After much needed naps we played with Peyton and Brennan in the back yard until dinner. The kids did it all- trampoline, sprinkler, water balloons, sand and water table, you name it. After the Cornack kids left we ambushed our neighbor Sam and attacked him with the leftover water balloons.
At the end of the day we watched two butterflies emerge from their cocoons and set them free. Or, forced them from their butterfly-home-as-they-knew-it (they were very unwilling to go). Three more remain, maybe tomorrow!
