Zooin' It

Today was zoo day, and the beginning of our fabulous spring break adventure.
The day started off windy and chilly, so we were glad to have hats and a snuggly blanket in our wagon. We got to the zoo early, and explored for an hour before meeting up with our friends. We saw all of the monkees, visited the aquarium and then had lunch outside before going to the playground. Unfortunately the elephants and other African animals were all MIA, except for two pent-up rhinos and some little meercats. Ashton was so excited in the aquarium and around the gorillas, he doesn't remember visiting the zoo before, it was all new to him. His constant commentary was "Ooooh, oooh ooooh" and he ran and pointed at everything. We parted ways from our group to ride the carosel, our last hurrah, bought some oatmeal cookies and headed home. Both boys slept on the way home, their cheeks pink from the sun. A great trip, probably one of the best we've had at the zoo. The boys are looking forward to going back and seeing the Aviary, Reptile House and the petting zoo next Monday.

Tomorrow: Domino's Farms!
