On the Farm (sort of)

We stayed home all morning today, no kids club, summer camp or play dates. Mason helped me do some laundry, and I cleaned the house (it's dirty again). Amber and Aunt Jami came to visit and helped Mason weasel out of his nap, lucky boy. When Ashton got up from his nap we hit the road and spent the afternoon with Jack and Lia. The boys fell right into their old companionable ways, and Lia is now a CHUNK! She let me hold her and even nibbled on me for a while- I loved every minute. Ashton got to get his hands dirty with some homemade playdough while the bigger boys played geo-trax trains upstairs. Lia watched us in her uber-cool baby seat (a bumbo, I think it's called) which is one baby gadget I didn't buy, so of course I loved it.
Jack's menagerie has grown since we last saw it, and the boys had so much fun seeing all of the new animals. Ash loved the chickens and rooster, but Mason thought they were too loud- as you can see. We broke in Jack's new swing set and sandbox, then headed home to make dinner. Grandpa showed up and ate omelette's with us (all we had was eggs!) and he didn't even bat an eye when I told him they were filled with sauteed beet greens. I feel like a gourmet chef when grandpa eats with us, because he is always appreciative of a hot meal- it all tastes better than take out, even if it is unusual sometimes!
