We are almost through our first Daddy-less day, and the boys and I really miss him.
Fortunately Uncle Derk and Aunt Arika came to my rescue and banished the whineies this afternoon when Mason's birthday gift came in the mail. He loves it, and we have flown test flight after test flight with the balsa wood bi-plane and the foam rubberband-launched plane. The foam plane is tops for distance and cool air effects, but the balsa wood plane has four interchangeable wings and tail fins for doing tricks. We decided to wait to paint and decorate the planes until tonight so they could dry overnight. Another bonus was the packing material. Three jumbo-sized sheets of paper were scrunched aroung the contents of the shipping box, and the boys have used them to: Make parachutes- jumping off furniture throughout the house, create a giant welcome home card for Daddy and wrap "presents" for me (a dog toy and my cookbook).
Thank you, Uncle Derk, Aunt Arika and Leo-- Heroes of the day!
