The end-of-the-year picnic was yesterday, and we went early to play as much as possible before it was over (and to snag a good table seat for lunch). The boys loved playing with their school buddies and teachers, and it was a tough job getting them back into the car to head home.
After the picnic we had our midwife/apprentice/Mimi/parent pow-wow. The birthing tub is here, and all of the women took a tour through the house so they will know where everything is come showtime. Both boys and Mimi got to listen to the baby's heartbeat with the fetal scope, and Ash didn't want to give it up. He listened to the baby's heart, his own heart, and the baby's again. I felt so special having 2 midwives, 3 apprentices, 1 mom and 1 husband all come together to prepare for the birth. Prenatal care seems like a whole different ballgame this time around, and I love it.
Sean and I were lucky enough to get a babysitter last night so we could go out to eat and then to see Sex and the City. I loved it, and I think if you were a fan of the show you will like the movie. The theater was packed, and I think Sean was one of the only men in attendance (you could count them on one hand). I think the rest of the theater was high on cosmos in celebration of the opening, it was a lively crowd.
Today is Leo's birthday (happy 3rd birthday Leo!!!) and Brennan's party. The boys are disappointed we can't make Leo's party, and having a hard time waiting for Brennan's. I'm glad we have a fun event to go to while Sean is off at the Petty concert with Uncle Tony. Mason wanted to go to that, too, and I think if there was an earlier showtime Sean would have taken him.
