The Thick of things

This is our the beginning of our busy time of year; school conferences are coming, Uncle Rome, Mimi and Mase celebrate birthdays, and Halloween jump starts the holiday roller coaster. It feels like every day is spoken for for the next few months.
Yesterday Sean surprised the boys and took them out golfing after school. It was Ashton's first time on the course, and he loved putting and driving the cart. Mason is an old pro (or as near to one as you can be if you are only six but not quite Tiger Woods). Blake and I spent the afternoon getting ready for Don and Amber and Donovan to come over. We made all sorts of goodies to eat and got some games ready. Don and Sean ended up beating Amber and I very soundly at Trivial Pursuit, but we're looking forward to a rematch. After visiting for a little while Mason was asleep quickly, but Ash fought and fought, and I eventually caved in and let him join the party for a little while. He and little D got along famously, as you can see in this video... I think the kiss count is 10.

The end of soccer season is near, and I'm glad because it is getting too cold to watch soccer at 8:00 in the morning. Mason played really hard, and had some stand-out plays, but also let a couple balls get past him. Now the boys and I are relaxing (Ash still in his jams) while Sean gets in a chilly round of golf with his buddy, and our adopted uncle, Matt. I need to try and sneak in a nap before my night out...
Happy Sweetest Day!
