Date night, Girls night

Our last weekend of freedom and all-day jammies before returning to school was bittersweet. We packed it full, starting with a date night for Sean and Blake and I on Friday. Tawni came to sit for the older boys and we ate Thai food with Blake, who was the center of attention. Saturday Sean took Mason and Ashton swimming and Blake and I went to breakfast with Mimi and Suepy, and later that night I got to have a rare night out with Amber and Ehrika. We closed Evans Street, and I don't think Blake even knew I was gone. It's wonderful to have adult conversation- but a lot to squeeze into one dinner, so we've got to try and make it a tradition.
Today started laaaaazy, but ended up being a lot of fun. Grandma and Papa came over for dinner, and we had a really wonderful meal and visit with them. We finished the weekend sweetly with homemade "I-don't-want-to-go-back-to-school chocolate cake" and the boys are already sleeping hard.
I have my coffee pot programmed to brew an extra-strong pot extra early tomorrow, breakfast is all prepped: wish us luck on the first morning back!
