Yesterday I decided to surprise the boys when I picked them up from school and take them to the library to play. They didn't think that was much of a surprise, and both of them claimed they did NOT want to go to the library. "It just doesn't sound like fun", Mason said. I decided to just drive by and toss the books into the book drop, and then head home (if they don't want to go, they don't want to go). When we pulled into the parking lot both boys changed their tune, however, and started begging to go inside and see what new puzzles/books/puppets were in the kids area. I don't know what changed their mind, but we ended up having a really good time and stayed until almost 5:00. I ordered Lafcadio, The Lion Who Shot Back from inter-library loan system , and I am so excited to read it to Mason and Ashton. I still remember all of the pictures; a lion in a marshmallow suit leaves a lasting impression on a young mind.
Blake was happy to get back home, where he got to sample some bananas for the second time. He likes them better than sweet potatoes, but not by much. He gives a surprised little shiver every time they touch his tongue.
