Cousin Kait snuggles Ash, Lilly thinks Jerome is the perfect seat
The boys and I made it home in one piece. It was close for uncle Jerome, Grandpa and I were ready to leave him at a gas station. The boys were sooo happy to see their dad, it made up for not wanting to talk to him on the phone while we were in Springfield. They were having too much fun playing with the Higgins' family dogs; Lilly and Belle. Ashton spent the majority of his time chasing, teasing, and kissing Belle, then running away and leaping on a lap to escape from her when she got excited. Mason ran around with Pearson and Grace and while they chased themselves into exhaustion Ashton endeared himself to the extended family. He showed off with his vocabulary (which has exploded recently) and massive appetite.
Mase got to play his first video game, which I have really resisted, but he loved it. He played Wii bowling and then Wii boxing. He loved the boxing, and was so focused and intent the whole time. Plus, he loves the cheers.
I went out with Annie, Kait and Beth (cousins) and Uncle Bobby and Jerome and really proved once and for all that I am too old to stay out late and drink. Beth got up to do Pilates the next morning, and the rest of the crew was up eating breakfast while I was trying to sleep it off and avoid food. Uncle David came to my rescue and took the boys down for breakfast, thank god. It really was a wonderful trip (thank you, everyone).
Since we've been home the boys are back to teasing one another and running crazy. They think Abby looks like a midget dog compared to the Springfield pets. We have been slowly moving books, toys, games and furniture back into Mason's room after the makeover (I will post a picture when we get everything back in order) and it looks great. Very, very bright, but great for a four year old!
