The boys discovered the old Connect Four game that I got from Grandma. Derk, Jerome and I used to play this game in the den at Grandma's house at every holiday, sometimes regular visits too. I had so much fun watching the boys play! It's the first game that they have played entirely by themselves, where they both understand the rules. Ash was on a winning streak until Mason figured out some simple strategic moves and turned the table. If you need a translation, Ash is shouting "My stop you!" His strategy is simply to put a red chip on top of any black chip to stop Mason from building upwards.
We got this book in the mail today- it was love at first sight for both boys. We read it many times over before bed, but they are not allowed to open (or even touch) it on their own.
