We are home from our favorite get-away; Saugatuck. We had a wonderful time, and as usual, the most memorable parts of the trip seem to be the simplest ones. We spent a lot of time at the beaches, (Oval and Douglas) the park, in the hot tub and in town. It was a little chilly on the water both days, but the boys were oblivious. I sat in a beach chair with a coat on and a towel wrapped around my legs; they behaved as if it were 90 degrees out. Both days we had the beach all to ourselves until after noon, when it warmed up and everyone was a little more awake. The boys loved the hot tub at our rental house, and the whirlpool bathtub. They are easy to please, these two! We indulged in our favorites, pies from Back Alley Pizza joint and gourmet bar food from Phil's, and we let the boys make their own banana splits. We fed the ducks our stale pizza crusts, rode the chain ferry, drank too much good coffee and topped off the trip by watching the parade through town. It was good to be gone, and it's good to be home!
