It has snowed two days in a row and we made our family ornament Saturday, so it's official: It's Christmas season. Seeing flakes yesterday was a shock after all the warmth we've been enjoying, and we spent a cozy family weekend together.
Friday (which is fast becoming our favorite day) Sean and I worked out together, had coffee together, and spent the morning as a family of three with Blake while the boys were in school. I took Blake to his well-baby (it went wonderfully, of course, because he is super-baby) while Sean picked up the boys and then we met for some bouncing.
Saturday we had breakfast with Suepy and she gave Mason some birthday gifts, a book by our favorite poet and two magic kits. He has been perfecting his act since then. The most magical part is how Sean and I are still amazed every time he does a trick, even after teaching him how to do it. He does not get tired of putting on a show, and is now asking for a top hat and wand to complete the effect.
Sunday we went to Ann Arbor and did our grocery shopping as a family. The boys call Whole Foods the "sample store" and I was hoping they would eat enough to fill them up for lunch, but no such luck. We brought home some homemade marshmallows and built a fire to roast them over. They were yummy, but truth be told the old stand by Stay-Puft are better for toasting. Must be some funky chemical that helps them hold up to the flames.
