I have to admit that I was hoping for no school today, it is too cold to be outside. It seems St. Joe's is one of the last schools to delay or cancel, which can be both bad and good. We made the best of the weather though, and are having a nice afternoon in. We had a great family lunch with Sean, which is a nice treat because he usually gets home much later than we do. Then the boys and I set out to do valentines for the classroom. Mason perfected his signature, and Ash "signed" all of his cards with enthusiasm. We watched Snow White & the Seven Dwarves, and now we're just putzing around the basement. All of us are sick of cold, windy, wintery weather. Snow we like, but it's no fun when you can't even go outside and play in it. It seemed unfair that on the coldest day of the year, when we are all longing for some sunshine, the boys bathing suits would come in the mail. It was almost like taunting them- here's your new suits, but you can't wear them! Needless to say, we are all anxiously waiting for the Kalahari trip.
Yesterday I got to observe in Mason's classroom, and I learned two interesting things:
- Mason can count to 21 in spanish
- He does not know his own middle name
The second fact surprised me more than the first, I can't count how many times I have used his middle name when he was pushing the limits: Mason Anthony Edison.... I guess it goes to show how well children can block out their parents voices when they wish to.
