Feeling Lucky?

St. Patrick's Day is Monday, and while I know it's not a "big" holiday, the kids and I are trying to get in the spirit a little more this year. We are planning a green dinner on Monday, with spinach pasta, basil pesto sauce and an all-green veggie salad. As much as I want to celebrate, I can't bring myself to go the traditional corned beef-n-cabbage route. Ruebens are great, but that's where corned beef belongs, in my opinion. I think we will do some art projects and of course, the wearin' o' the green goes without saying. If anyone else is feeling festive, try the Irish Soda Bread recipe I put up (and stole from Crunchy Chicken) and share some with us!

We had conferences yesterday, and before hand I took the boys to play at the Moonwalk adventure in Adrian. An hour and a half there feels like a lifetime to me, but the boys could stay forever. The conferences were short and sweet, there was not much to say on either side. We are leaning toward putting Mason and Ashton in St. Joes in Tecumseh next year, so goodbyes will be a little sad. The boys have come to love their teachers, Ash has been with Miss Peggy for two years and Mason has been in Mrs. Rose's class for three. Mason has to make a change no matter what we decide, so I hope it's an easier one to go to a Kindergarten with 8-10 students than one with closer to 30. The boys will be in the same room for half of their day, and (knock-on-wood) that should give both of them some comfort and a familiar face.

Today we are just bumming around in our jammies, Mason and Ash are both feeling a little punky so we are laying low. As much as I hate to see either one on them less than 100%, I have to admit to relishing the extra snuggles and closeness. This is just about the only time I can kiss Mason without him swiping at his face angrily and screeching "I don't like kisses". Speaking of my little love, we made the front page of the Tecumseh Herald (Yup, it's the big time) with a picture from the Mother and Son Dance. Mason is actually hardly visible in the shot- you have to look carefully to pick out his cowlick behind another mother. I look like I was the only one not asked to dance, leaning on the wall at the edge of the room!
