We had a busy, busy weekend! Mason found a new buddy outside, a little penny toad that he decided is the descendant of his buddy Hopper the toad. I had a really tough time getting the little guy's picture because he is so small. Mase kept him in a bucket for a day and a night before we convinced him to let him go so he could get some food.
This weekend was the Pow-Wow at Cal-Zorn park. We didn't make it to the event, but Mason did get to see his first fireworks display. We had him take a nap Saturday afternoon, put him to bed at the usual time, and woke him up when the fireworks started (10:00). He was mesmerized, the grand finale being his favorite part of the show. Mason was also intrigued by the lightning bugs, and I was amazed that it was the first time he had ever seen one. He was full of questions that night.
Sunday Sean won his golf tournament, which will be the beginning of Blake's college fund. There is one plus side to golfing! We also had some friends come visit, Abby and Lia and Jack. Ash LOVES Jack, and tries his hardest to show off for him. Lia was really interested in Blake, and loved on him quite a bit. They treated us to a meal, a wonderful spread from Whole Foods and homemade (and home raised) meatballs. We all ate way too much, but still have enough for at least two more lunches.
This is our week-of-rest, before two weeks of everyday all-day summer camp. Blake will have to get used to the car seat, he hasn't ridden in it yet!
